ALERT DISASTER PREPARINESS

Welcome to the ALERT Committee, Lion Ed Proctor from the McFarland Lions Club. Lion Ed has done an outstanding job of getting his Club on board and leading an active ALERT Team. Congratulation and welcome to the District 27-D1 ALERT Committee as a Co-Chair.

Lion Ed and I will be continuing efforts to spread the word across our District on how great it will be when all our Clubs form an ALERT Team to be ready when another disaster strikes. Not “if” but “when.” We've seen it happen in recent month and years. With ALERT, we can plan ahead and be prepared to help.

We will be visiting more Zone Meetings this year with a brief description of the program and how Clubs can help and benefit. And, we'll offer more info at Club meeting presentations. Besides the McFarland Lions, several other District Clubs have chosen ALERT Chairpersons and are in various stages of becoming ALERT. We encourage all D1 Lions Clubs to join this effort to prepare for the worst and that preparation will lead to less pain when a sisaster strikes home.
