Lions International Youth Exchange Report
Distinct 27-D1 Cabinet Meeting - March 13th, 2015
We are currently seeking HOST FAMILIES to participate in the International Lions Youth Exchange Program. Our district goal is hosting for 5 international youth, 1/10th of the 50+ youth expected to participate in our statewide program this year. Hosting involves integrating an international youth (age 16-21) into your home for about 3-4 weeks (not including one week the youth spend at our international youth exchange camp in Dundee Wisconsin). Hosting typically occurs through the month of July. A list of international youth applicants is available at the Wisconsin Lions International Youth Exchange Program web site http://www.wisconsinlionsyouthexchange.org/YEPlacement.htm. The applications are password protected so please contact me directly (contact info below) and I will guide you to the applications.
Outgoing Youth: The Youth Exchange Committee has awarded four $1000 scholarships to the following district youth (below). Our scholarship is competitive and the applicants must live in our district and be a direct relative of a district Lion, Lioness or a active member of a Lion or Leo Club. After the scholarship deadline, December 15th of each calendar year, ANY youth can be considered IF they have a sponsoring Lions Club and IF our annual quota of 5 scholarships has not been met.
