August Cabinet Meeting
District Governor Report
I would like to thank the District for electing me. The International Convention and the training with other DGE's from around the world was really interesting. Some don't believe in Leo clubs. A number of the DG's there were from states or regions that are facing redistricting because the number of Lions in their districts have dropped below the required 1200 members. The major theme that was pushed thru the 3 days of the DGE school was that the DG and the 2VDG's must work together as a team, for the good of the District and Lions. This year we are changing the 2nd zone meeting to a regional meeting with each of the VDG's in charge of 2 regions similar to what we used to do with Region Chairs.
A change from LCl is that clubs over 90 days past due will go on financial suspension.
One of my 3 themes is manage change. We will have changes this year. I hope all for the better of the district but time will tell on that.
l want to say that as I have went up to be the District Governor, l can say in all honesty that we are one of the best trained and progressive districts in the state. We can all thank the GLT, GMT, DG,s and training staff over the last 10 years for this. Nothing happens without the cooperation of the whole district.
That being said, we have at the present time UW Platteville Campus Club with no members and the Madison Evening Club with only 7 members.
