District Hearing Preservation Awareness and Activities Report
August 2, 2015
First I would like to thank 1st VDG Eric Holthaus for his help during my transition to the District Hearing Preservation Awareness & Activities Chair position. I look forward to serving the Lions, Lioness, and Leo's of 27-D1. At this time there are 2 Hearing Aid Program Applications pending.
The Objectives of the Wisconsin Lions Foundations Hearing Project:
- • To promote public awareness of hearing loss and its effects on individuals and society.
- • To increase public knowledge about preservation, recognition, and treatment for the hard of hearing.
- • To collect and recycle both functioning and non-functioning used hearing aids for salvage credit, allowing the purchase of new hearing aids for recipients of the Lions Hearing Project.
Individuals interested in receiving assistance through the WLF Hearing Project are required to fill out an application for financial assistance. Applications can be obtained by contacting me - contact information below -- or by calling the Foundation Office at 1-877-463-6953. If your local club would like to have Hearing program assistance applications on hand for distribution to the needy in your community, please contact me.
The success of the Hearing project in 27-D1 relies on the collective efforts and generosity of your Lions, Lioness, and Leo Clubs. Your club is encouraged to collect used hearing aids and provide funding for recipients. Used hearing aids can be deposited in the eyeglass recycling containers or hearing aid recycling containers.
Make Club donations for the WLF Hearing project payable to and send to:
