August Cabinet Meeting
Region 2 Zone 2 Report
I haven't done many visits since July 1st due to a busy schedule. I have been to all the clubs since 5-1-15 but did not complete a form.
I have been preoccupied with this coming Free Vision screening at the Columbia County Fair from 7-22 through 7-26. Each of my five clubs will do screening between 1 and 7pm each day, (l hope).
I attended the Fair meetings, secured and paid for a room , prepared several forms for the clubs to use, and last night had all five clubs come to the Portage Public Library to be trained on the Welch/Allyn screening machine.
I had four Lions from Pardeeville, two from Dells, two from Arlington, one from Portage, and four from Lake Wisconsin. I think that wasn't bad for a two week old ZC to get the clubs to come to a non-zone chair meeting. Each had a folder with multiple new, clean forms, pics of where to go, and maps of the area. I am currently creating an 'A' frame signage to place in the midway to direct folks to us. I am working with Columbia County Human Resources to have a Latino person available to handle any Spanish. I hope to use these folks as my "jump off" into the club visits in August. Our room is adjacent to the indoor restrooms so I have high hopes for attendance.
As stated earlier, I have visited each of these clubs at least once in the last two months to sell this 'one of a kind' project. They each brought me the $20 each to cover the Fair rental fee also!
I don't have anywhere around me that would support a zone chair generat meeting. lf you received my initial ZC meeting schedule, I am asking each of my clubs to come to the first mtg and we will vote where the next will be. Sorry we don't have an Albrny or Mt. Horeb style location to fit everyone. Dino's would be the only( $$$) choice in Portage right off the interstate, but I would need plenty of lead time and more details before doing that. Let me know your thoughts.
Hope this helps some. Sorry I am falling behind early in the game.
Let you know more when I have stuff....
