R3Z3 - Fitchburg, McFarland, Oregon-Brooklyn, Verona

Zone Meeting for January is scheduled.
January 26, 2016 - Zone Meeting will be hosted by McFarland Lions at the Green Lantern in McFarland.
Social begins at 6pm with dinner and meeting to follow at 6:30pm.

Regional Zone Meeting - October 21, 2015
Clubs in attendance -McFarland, Oregon-Brooklyn, Verona
Feedback from Meeting: All who attended thought it was a nice change from the normal October Zone meeting. It was a good opportunity to interact with and hear ideas and problems from other clubs. Eating Blind was an interesting experience and there should be more opportunities for club members to experience that. All comments were positive, hopefully this will be done again next year.

Club Visits:
Fitchburg - December 14, 2015
Fitchburg continues to struggle with attendance at meetings but even with those struggles they are still an active club. They are on track to qualify for the Diamond Centennial Patch again in 2015-16 as they have service projects completed or scheduled in each area. I encouraged Lion Tom to submit a Lion of the Year and Club of the Year nomination form for this year and to attend the Convention in March. We discussed the Club Excellence Award as they qualified for 2014-15 but neglected to get paperwork filed prior to the deadline. This year may be hard to qualify as they are down 3 members and it looks like it will be difficult to get to a plus 1 status. They funded an "Adopt of Family" for the Christmas Holiday providing their holiday meal. They are hosting Vision Screening Training at the Fitchburg Senior Center on 1/13/15. There was a written agenda and reports for the meeting, something that was missing on my last visit.

McFarland - December, 1, 2016
McFarland has had improved attendance we more than 40 members at each of the last 4 meetings. That have added 5 new members this year with 2 more pending applications. The club has already qualified for the 2015-16 Centennial Diamond Award. They completed a Food Drive, Children's Vision Screening, Community Meal, Gazebo Park Decoration for Christmas and Salvation army Bell Ringing.

Oregon/Brooklyn - January 4, 2016
Oregon/Brooklyn held their holiday party, meeting and DG Dick's visit at the Maple Tree in McFarland. They are hosting District Bowling so they are working on the preparation for that. They were presented with the Centennial Diamond Award for 2014-15 by the DG. They are on track to qualify again this year. They are still selling Nuts from the holiday Nut Sale and their Rose Sale is coming up in March.

Verona
I did not make a visit since the last Regional Zone meeting. Next visit will be in February.
