New Mountains to Climb / Back to the Future
District Meeting - Sunday, January 22, 2017
American Legion, Cross Plains
District Hearing Preservation Awareness & Activities Report
Since our October 27-D1 cabinet meeting 9 applications for hearing aid assistance have been approved, 6 of these are self pay based on income. Self pay means that the applicant receives a deep discount on the hearing Aid but is responsible for paying other cost themselves.
Individuals interested in receiving assistance through the WLF Hearing Project are required to fill out an application for financial assistance. Applications can be obtained by contacting me - contact information below -- or by calling the Foundation Office at 1-(877) 463-6953. If your local club would like to have Hearing program assistance applications on hand for distribution to the needy in your community, please contact me.
The success of the Hearing project in 27-D1 relies on the collective efforts and generosity of your Lions, Lioness, and Leo Clubs. Your club is encouraged to collect used hearing aids and provide funding for recipients. Used hearing aids can be deposited in the eyeglass recycling containers or hearing aid recycling containers.
If your club has funds available and can donate to the hearing program, those in need of assistance in your communities will greatly appreciate your support.
