1st VDG Report - John Elvekrog

District
The past three months I have attended ten Lions Club meetings and have seven more clubs to visit. I enjoy these visits and learn a lot about all the service Lions do for their communities. All the clubs are doing well with new members and getting their monthly reports in.

I am also zone chairman for R3-Z1 and we will be having our next zone meeting at Flynn Hall in Cottage Grove, Wednesday January 31 at 6:00PM.

I have been attending monthly Exec meetings, along with membership and District Convention meetings. As we look forward to our D-1 convention in Wis. Dells on March 10-11, it will be a fun and educational weekend; I hope a lot of Lions will be able to attend.

State
I attended District Governor training meeting on October 28 at Lions camp in Rosholt. Also, will be attending District Governor elect training in Chaska MN, on February 24-25, 2018.

I attended the Lions state Curling Tournament in Waupaca on January 5&6. A fun event and our District was well represented with the Cottage Grove and Sun Prairie Clubs.

Summary
I am enjoying my year as 1 st VDG, it is busy and I want to thank D.G. Jodi for all the help she is giving me as I prepare for next year. I will be talking to all of you, if I have not already, about next year's Cabinet.
