International Convention Report

The 101st International Convention will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, June 29 through July 3, 2018. All activities, except for the International Parade of Nations, will take place at the MGM Grand Resort. The early registration period ended January 12, 2018. After that date the registration fee increases $50.00. The Wisconsin delegation has been assigned to the Luxor Hotel and Casino and is about a fifteen-minute walk to the MGM Grand.

Again, this year the business meeting and International Director Nominations will take place on Saturday afternoon after the International Parade. I will be working with the Council Chair and the Council Chair Elect to determine space needs to conduct a Council Meeting at the convention.

In addition, I will be entering the Multiple District in the International Parade. The parade route has not been finalized, but I believe it will be closer to the downtown/Fremont Street area. The parade will be starting at 8:30 am in an effort to minimize the impact of the heat. I expect that the parade information will be available later in January.

I will be communicating with the Council and the attendees as additional information becomes available.
