Wisconsin Lions Missions Report
Twenty two Wisconsin and Minnesota Lions completed a mission in Guatemala in February. They worked with a Lions Club from Guatemala City and served 2300 Mayan people. This was a first mission there and plans are underway for another trip there in 2021.
A Van load of winter clothing and blankets from our District were delivered to the Pine Ridge the first week of February. $25,000.00 was collected state wide for the weekend kids lunch program in Wanblee. That much needed program is now funded for the next year. Thank You Wisconsin Lions!
At this time the plan is to conduct an eye glass mission in the Pine Ridge and Oglala K-12 schools the second week of May. If that cannot be worked out we will do the mission in September. If any District Lions have a used camping tent that is collecting dust in their garage they can be used for the homeless population as shelter during the summer months.
A blizzard prevented Bill Taubman and me from making a presentation at the South Dakota State Lions Convention on January 18th. We may be able to attend a regional convention in Rapid City in May or June.
Respectfully submitted:
