Global Membership Team Report
Zone Chair training will be on July 22 via Zoom. I will be working with the exec team to finalize the agendas for the Zone Chair meetings that will take place in August, many of which will also be on Zoom.
The District finished the 2019-2020 Lions Year with a net growth of minus-54. We had 194 drops on the year, with approximately 24 taking place in the last weeks of June. Positive membership growth is one of our number one goal this year and "how can we achieve this" will be the biggest topic at both zone chair training and at the first zone chair meetings this fall. The district has reinstated exit interviews for members who drop from Lions and Becky Faliveno, who is taking care of member retention for our team, has already begun sending interviews to Lions in our district who have dropped their memberships since January 2020. Also being discussed are new member orientations, membership chair training, and more.
On a related note, the Global Action Team is looking to have more contact with zone chairs and club officers this year as we all need to help our clubs navigate a digital world and keep having meetings -- despite the limitations that exist. We are concerned that a lack of meetings, a lack of events, and a lack of service projects might have a negative impact on our goals for this year.
Andy Grosvold, who is overseeing awards and recognition for the Global Membership Team, is working with Global Service Chair Bruce Voight on our district's entries for the Kindness Matters Award.
My final area to report on is MyLCI, which I am overseeing for my team. As of this writing, 27 of the 58 clubs in our district have filed their Monthly Membership Reports. This is an area of concern as many clubs have been dormant on reporting their monthly membership reports since March. We would like to see 100 percent reporting again and will be working to achieve this.
Respectfully submitted,
Adam Crowson
