Restoring Hope Transplant House Report

Since our last report, we have been busy with preparations for the expansion project. Several work parties were organized to move furniture, fixtures, etc, to our temporary location about a mile away from the house. We also removed the fence and moved it to our temporary storage facility- this was necessary to prepare for the groundbreaking and the new footprint. As of now we are in a pause mode with the expansion until Spring - this was necessary due to complications brought on by Covid, ie: a delay in permitting from the City of Middleton, high cost of construction materials and gaining agreement on an acceptable total cost from the builder. In addition, we needed more time to fundraise in order to bring the cost of construction down to a manageable level - the initial quote from the builder was not acceptable. Since the decision to pause was made, Lion Cindy was able to get several sizable donations from various sources and the donation of all plumbing fixtures from the Kohler Company. We are still looking for more corporate sponsors, specifically, ten $10,000 donations. If you know of any businesses or individuals that may want to donate to the house, please have them contact Cindy Herbst. These will be a tremendous help with day to day operations in addition to the expansion project. Our total house operating income has been drastically reduced due to severely reduced guest stays brought on by Covid. We have been sending weekly detailed updates to LCIF. We want to express our sincere thanks for the continued support from the Lions of Wisconsin.

Respectfully Submitted,
PDG Bob Faliveno
