27D1 Vision Committee Report

Cabinet Members,

As we enter the fall of 2022, we have been scheduling vision screenings in our district and it appears that the number on screenings should be back on a normal schedule. There are requests for use of district cameras.

At our last cabinet meeting, a new replacement camera for the district Plusoptix S09 located in DeForest with Lion Tony Sobczak was approved for purchase. As of this date, the camera is on backorder until the parts arrive at the factory to finish assembly (probably by end of year 2022).

27D1 Vision Committee has been working with WLF to establish guidelines for training and certification for vision screeners needing recertification. A D1 Vision committee meeting will be scheduled soon after October 10th with WLF D1 Vision Committee Directors PDG John Elvekrog and Lion Jim Fletcher to work on the input from D1.

Until the guidelines have been established, clubs and vision screeners should continue to conduct screenings and report results as they have been doing. The report spreadsheet is still available online and should be sent to Lion Scott Grover. (See bottom of report form for address).

If you are in need of recertification, please contact me for guidance until WLF guidelines are complete.

Please continue to setup your regular vision screenings and look for new Daycares and schools that may have been overlooked in the past. Thank you for all of your efforts and continued service to your communities.

Respectfully submitted,
Lion Milo Parker
