District Cabinet Meeting - Sunday, August 4, 2024
New voices Report

The district's New Voices program ended the 2023-24 Lions year on a positive note. We continue to be a leader in MD27 for this program as we are one of the only districts that takes advantage of recognizing the new leaders in our district with recognition awards for their work at our district convention.

In 2023-24, we recognized the following Lions for their service:

Service - Sandra Ramsfeld, Waunakee
Membership - Jean Minga, Lake Wisconsin
Leadership - Andrea Murray, Lake Wisconsin
Marketing - Wendy Sherman, Mazomanie

As program chair for the district, I also participated in a seminar with PCC Tammy Rockenbach at the 27-D1 Convention and the MD27 Convention where we discussed club issues and how to develop new leaders / new voices.

Unfortunately there is not a lot of activity with this program in MD27. Despite a refresh from LCI on marketing and information, this program continues to confuse leadership on how to promote the initiative. For example, last year's MD27 New Voices chair was told by the MD27 Global Membership Team leader that there wasn't a need for this program and most districts didn't fill this cabinet position. We are waiting to hear how the New Voices program falls in this year's MD27 GMT's agenda to learn how we can do more statewide with this program.

At the district level, we continue to promote and encourage development of new leaders.

Respectfully submitted,
Adam Crowson
New Voices Chair
District 27-D1
