Our youth camp is scheduled from August 11th - August 18th at Camp Vista near Campbellsport WI. Along with the 20 youth from 9 countries, we have 4 volunteer counselors, and ~6 mostly Lion and Lioness staff volunteers working shifts throughout the week.
District Sponsored Activities
Our district will be sponsoring five activities for visiting youth along with their host families: A Milwaukee Brewers Game, Mississippi River Museum, Chicago Field Museum, Wisconsin State Fair, and Noah's Ark where the Schofield Lions donated funds for our lunch at the waterpark. Many of the Youth and their families from around the state will be meeting at Noah's Ark.
Fundraising:
We are currently soliciting funds from our district Lions and Lioness clubs to finance this upcoming year's program. These funds are used to administer this program which involves paying our districts' share of the Youth Exchange camp-related fees, youth exchange scholarships & host family stipends. All the funds collected are used only for direct youth exchange related costs. There are no indirect fees; every person involved in this program is a volunteer including the camp counselors. Our scholarship deadline is December 15th ; so, if possible, please make your donations early so we can allocate scholarships accordingly.
