DG- Cabinet openings: Zone Chairs, Environmental Chair - discussion of composting project.
Secretary report- Grosvold: Previous minutes from March 13th meeting posted on district website
Motion: Crowson Second: Rockenbach Carried
Treasurers report - Severson: $2000 loss on admin account, overall district in good financial shape.
Motion: Kietske Second: Cernelia Carried
Hellen Keller Memorial Request: Request for $100 donation for commemorative brick to be placed at Lions Knights of the Blind memorial. Funds to come from administrative fund.
Motion: Cernelia Second: Faliveno Carried
GLT/GST - Pogue: New ZC blood needed. Training book will be made digital. Leo Clubs lack of reporting.
Faculty Development Institute attended by Crowson, Pogue, and Rockenbach: RLLI- Advanced training
Need more attendees, 2nd VDG will attend; June 19-21
GMT - Meier: 16 members for the '22-23 calendar year; Token Creek dissolved. Discussion re: clubs not reporting service. New portal up and running by September 11.
GMA - Burmester: District is on a mission to grow by 12% by 6/30/2027. Avg club of 36, that's +1/yr. LCI mission 1.5 webpage, GMA 4 clubs, Club Excellence award. Part of LCI's to grow to 1.5 million members.
LEBW Report - Singley: Donations over $175K. 27D1 represented well. Surpassed donation goal. New Mission- Guatemala. Motion to donate $7000 by Ingwell Second: Faliveno Withdrawn after discussion.
Peace Posters - Lund: Available via LCI website for $13 plus shipping
WI Lions Newsletter - DG Winkler: All digital/full color. Consider printing copies for members who don't have internet access.
USA/Canada Forum '23 - PCC Rockenbach: 2023 in Reno, NV. 2024 Louisville, KY
District & State Conventions - 1stVDG Wright: Golf outing at Pleasant View, August 31 planning meeting. District Convention is March 8-9, 2024.
Restoring Hope Transplant House- IPDG Johnson: Discussion on building of new facility. 27D1 has full support of project.
Youth Exchange Report - DG Winkler: Will be in the recap
WLF - PDG Evelkrog: Update on the camp and improvements being made. $109K raised on deer hides. Raffle September 27
LCIF - DG Winkler: Will be in the recap
Vision Committee Reports- Parker/PDG Faliveno: Over 10,000 screenings with 1,000 referrals. New Opportunities. Adult screening; 7 sessions/yr in district. Need more help (6/7 volunteers).
Stuff the Bus - DG Winkler: 12 club participating.
Diabetes Report - Kietzke: Shortage of medical staff at camp. Diabetes camp moved to late June. Disc. on reaching out to independent pharmacies for ways to increase screenings. In person classes beginning again via Medicare.
Leader Dog - Zallar: Thank you for donations. 123 dogs placed this past year.
Childhood Cancer - Baglama: Possible Statewide initiative, COG will listen to proposal in August to determine approval to move forward.
Hybrid Meetings - DG Winkler: October 8 at LEBW. In-person/Zoom
