CABINET MEETING MINUTES Draft

Welcome - District Governor Jeff Winkler
Pledge of Allegiance - 1st Vice District Governor Ron Wright

Secretary Report - Lion Andy Grosvold - Minutes were emailed out on March 2, 2024. Motion. Second. Carried.

Treasurer Report - Lion Bill Severson - District in sound financial shape. Financials were sent out on March 1st Motion. Second. Carried.

District Convention Overview - DG Jeff Winkler - Art of recruitment session needs volunteer(s). Also re: State Convention, volunteers also needed.

Cabinet Openings: 1VDG Ron Wright- Zone Chair needed R2 Z2; Lions Missions; New position Global Extension Team (GET). Contact VDG Wright if interested. LCIF Grant-DG Winkler-Fast response to grant application for victims of the Edgertons/Evansville tornadoes. Process was explained and Edgerton and Evansville clubs are handling the logistics. 30/40 families in need. Peace Poster-DG Winkler-The D1 winner is from McFarland, also went on the win the state competition.

Officer Training - Lion Tim Meier- June 3, 5, 6, 8, at various sites. Zone Chair training also being planned at this time.

District Bowling - DG Winkler- PDG Eric Holthaus. Will be held at Leisure Lanes in Monroe.

Youth Exchange - DG Winker- Updward of 8 students already registered.

Leo Club - Lion Brenda Steele- Getting the word out. Members of Marshall and Iowa Grant will be attending the convention. Attended the IG 20th charter anniversary and swore in 30 new members.

Childhood Cancer - Lion Julie Bagalama- Update on club donations to statewide fund. $40K raised so far. Each support network will get ~20% each. Diabetes scavenger hunt details.

Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin - Current Status- Board President Lion Erica Singley-Madison Capitols hockey team fundraiser is on March 23rd. Volunteers needed for eye glass fitting at State Convention. Eye Bank tours happening Saturday (May 16) of State Convention from 2-6 p.m. Volunteers also needed to drive shuttle van to LEBW on the 16th.

Newsletter - PDG Bill Clausius- April 1st is the deadline for next publication; photos needed.

WLF - PDG John Evelkrog/Lion Jim Fletcher- Camp finances are good 2.5 million dollar a year operating budget. Raffle tickets upcoming, Birch Sturm Golf Outing in Iola. Deer hide revenue and sale of gloves on sale now. WLF needs more donations.

Vision Committee - PDG Bob Faliveno/Lion Milo Parker- Vision Screening training happened earlier today. D1 back up to near pre-pandemic levels. Goal to purchase 30 Plus Optix cameras. Latino health fair discussion. 5/6 more Lions needed. 2 cameras available for donation (Humphrey Device).
